Ozbreed is pleased to announce our new Advanced Tree Range. This exiting new range will provide landscapers and gardeners with more uniform, improved and superior forms of these native tree varieties.
Waterhousia floribunda 'SWEEPER'
This improved variety of Waterhousia features a heavily weeping habit with gorgeous lush green new growth and an elegant rippled leaf. Sweeper is a much denser form than the common Waterhousia, making it the ideal plant for a large screen.
Waterhousia floribunda 'Sweeper' also makes a stunning street tree, feature plant or shade tree performing well in sites like WestPoint Shopping Centre in NSW. WestPoint has used large specimens for pavement plantings creating a lovely softening effect in a harsh concrete environment.
Sweeper can also be seen at Mirvac's Mornington Estate at Holsworthy where it has been effectively used for street trees and screening.
This plant looks superb no matter what landscape you put it. You will be swept away by this majestic tree.
Tristaniopsis laurina 'Luscious'
A vastly improved form of the Tristaniopsis laurina 'Luscious' features foliage almost double the size of the original with gorgeous, lush, shinny appearance topped off with a copper new growth.
Luscious is highly suited for street planting, Garden features or for an elegant shade tree.
Luscious thrives in a range of conditions. It will tolerate frosts and drought but will do best in a warm moist position. Luscious will tolerate a wide range of soils, from well drained rocky soils to heavy clay clay loams, provided ample water is available. Luscious will grow to 7-12m tall, will grow in full sun to part shade. Flowers are yellow with a sweet perfume.
Below: This picture shows the copper re growth that appears.
The trunk also is a great feature as the bark has a striking port colour that peels back revealing a mottled cream stem.
Sublime is a lovely form of Acmena smithii which features lush, lime green new growth. Sublime reaches approximately 5m tall by 2-3m wide and has a thick and compact habit. These characteristics make it ideal for
screening, hedges, topiary or garden features. The foliage is dense all the way to ground level. Masses of white fluffy flowers appear in Summer that then develop into a deep mauve berry giving an excellent contrast against the foliage. These berries are also edible. Sublime is excellent for attracting birds to your garden. Sublime will tolerate a wide range of conditions from seaside gardens to cold climates with light frosts.
Add a little uniformity to your tree scape. On too many occasions trees are planted in a landscape, with unexpected results. People expect the trees of a particular species to look similar. After a few years however, they start looking very different, and cause the landscape to look unsightly. This new range of more uniform tree varieties will help solve this problem.
PINNACLE Syzigium australe ‘AATS’ PBR
Pinnacle is somewhat unique. It is a narrow Australian Native Lilly Pilly, similar in shape to a Pencil Pine or narrow Conifer. It is the first time Landscapers will have the ability to use a native in narrow areas as a screen tree or shrub. Plant it along a fence line, a wall, or use it to create a barrier itself, and as it is so thin it will take up less space. It can be pruned to stay shorter, but it requires no or only very minimal pruning to stay narrow. It is available now, in the size of 200mm to larger advanced trees.
