Olivia™

Olivia™ is an impressive variegated form of Tibouchina. Red velvety buds open to rich royal purple blooms. These flowers appear from late spring, summer and through to early winter. The soft variegated foliage will develop splashes of pink, yellow and green throughout the year. Olivia grows into a small to medium sized shrub at approximately 1-2 m tall x 1-2 m wide.

Uses

Great for garden specimen plantings and large tubs.

Position

Full sun to partly shaded positions. Olivia is great in humid conditions and can cope with cold as low as -8° to -10° celsius thanks to its urvilleana parentage. Although it can handle these conditions, it will most likely get burnt to the stem each year, even in moderate frosts.

Care

Keep moist in dry weather, protect from heavy frost. Olivia™ works well in well drained moist soils. It likes to be pruned once a year, although the frost may do the pruning for you in winter. It will re-shoot as the weather warms up.
